Mt. Gorc campsite

Baza namiotowa na Gorcu Where is it?
The campsite is situated in Gorce Mts., on mountain pastures not far away from the peak of Mt. Gorc (precisely Gorc Gorcowski pasture), to the south from the main ridge, 1150 m above sea level.

When to come?
The campsite is open during the summer season (1st July - 30th August).

How to get there?
Green trail from Mt. Turbacz (3h)
A ridge trail rich with panoramas, leading through the heart of Gorce Mts. Wandering across numerous clearings you can admire views of the Gorce and Beskid Wyspowy Mts. At the trail there is a legendary Bulandowa Kapliczka (a small shepherd's chapel) and WWII partisan battlefields marked with crosses. Caution! Do not feed bears!

Blue trail from Lubomierz-Rzeki village (on the Mszana Dolna-Zabrzeż road) (2h)
One of the most picturesque trails in the Gorce Mts. It heads mostly in a forest (steeply), but finally reaches Gorc Kamienicki mountain pasture, considered one of the best scenic spots in the Beskidy Mts. Near the pasture there is a mysterious spring of clear mineral water called Do Smoka.

Black trail from Szczawa village (on the Mszana Dolna-Zabrzeż road), then blue trail (3h)
This route is even more interesting than the previous one. Apart from the beauty of Gorc Kamienicki pasture it offers a wandering among bare rocks and healing "sour waters" of Szczawa village area, of refreshing, slightly stinging taste.

Green trail from Ochotnica Dolna village (2h)
An approach to the campsite from the south, rich with panoramic views. The attractions, apart from Ochotnica Dolna village, include views of Mt. Lubań, the Tatra and Beskid Sądecki Mts. and a thrill while passing the Piorunowiec peak (infamous of frequent and sometimes deadly thunderbolts).

We offer:

  • 40 sleeping places in 2-4 person tents,
  • sleeping places on foam mattresses (sleeping bags or blankets can be borrowed),
  • tourist kitchen and dining room in a big tent (with a set of utensils and a traditional-styled stone and clay stove),
  • a spring with a place for cleaning/washing,
  • several hectares of meadow to put up your tent,
  • and a lot of nice and easy-going folks like you.

GORCSTOK

It has been ten years since the tourist singing event known as Gorcstok was arranged for the first time. The meeting takes place on the 3rd weekend of August each year.
The event usually develops in two phases:
  • The first phase is a concert of famous authors (known not only from lyrics books), like Barbara Sobolewska, Andrzej Mróz, Paweł Orkisz, Jerzy Filar, Stanisław Figiel, Jerzy Bożyk.
  • The second phase is a spontaneous, whole-night common singing at a bonfire.
